Boat Races

John made a boat with straws, coffee stirs and hot glue. To guide it down the stream he attached a string.

Emmalee proudly shows off the boat she made for our traditional boat race.

The third entry in the contest was a balsa wood sail boat that I made with the kids maybe four or five years ago.

Rock Perch

If you're a kid, and you see a big rock, you have to climb it. It's the law.

Truth in Advertising

The sign says welcome to walmart. It should read 'Welcome to Hell'

May Flowers

April showers brought some pretty amazing results.

Rabbit Screen

John fashions a protective fence for his flowers to keep the rabbits away.

Bedtime Stories

New discovery . . . Isaac Asimov's Robot Novels. I had never progressed beyond the I, Robot short stories. I guess bedtime stories have progressed quite a bit beyond 'Goodnight, Moon'

My new ride. . .

I purchased it two weeks ago. It needed some work. I'm very happy with the job the body shop did fixing it up. I just got it back from the body shop today. (Before and after pictures)

I must be having a mid-life crisis. I've never been the slightest bit "excited" about any of my cars...until this one.

As mid-life crises go, I reckon it's pretty tame. It's a sedan!

It's fully loaded with all the luxuries. Has plenty of power. Though it's the smallest and most fuel-efficient car I've ever owned, it also has plenty of modern safety features which make it safer than larger cars I've owned.

It has a great sound system.

I plan to drive this for a long time.

It's real role is to drive me back and forth to work when it's raining or snowing.

Looking back from drivers seat, right.

Passenger seat.

Emmalee's School Pageant

E.G. Danced and sang in her third grade pageant.

John's Flower

Rabbits munched on John's prized Xenias . . . a Mother's Day present. Until we can buy a better fence, we rigged a bowl and a scrap of screen to protect it.

Both his father's and mother's son . . .

He begged to sit in the center of the back seat. Better surround sound and a better view of the road, he said.

Daddy's new wheels

The wheels were one item that didn't need reconditioning on the new-to-me car. There were a few accessories which didn't work at purchase. So far these have been fixed with just a few fuses; nothing more complex than that. John went over the car with a fine tooth comb on Sunday, checking every switch, every button, every latch and every cranny. I let him replace fuses and top off the wiper fluid. He was a happy kid.

Wicked Game Of Scrabble

Grandma, Emmalee and Dad play a mean game of scrabble. . .

Wanted to show off my new wheels. :)
