Just A Closer Walk. . .

The best music on Sunday morning is often the jazz hymns played as the congregation egresses from the sanctuary. Today they played some of tha music as an offeratory and I captured a little of it on video. The recording quality isn't the best but perhaps you get the idea.

From Mighty . . . Maples?

Frosty Maze

The frost on the windows this morning etched a strange pattern. :) My son, the maze fanatic, couldn't resist the pristine frost as a tabula rasa for his art as he stood waiting for the bus.

Driftwood

'Just like the driftwood of a dream left on the seashore of sleep. Just like the words that wouldn't rhyme lost in the desert of time. Time waits for no one at all. No not even you. You thought you'd seen it all before, you really thought you knew. Oh no don't leave me driftwood on the shore.' The lyrics of this song pass through my head whenever I find driftwood on the shore.

Light and Shade

The light and shadow in this scene caught my eye. At West Beach.

Och-ohem och-tay wyees—Barsoom

I loved Edgar Rice Burroughs books, and I enjoyed the movie "John Carter".

I don't understand why the movie is so widely panned in the U.S.

It was poorly marketed.

John Carter made me young again.

SPACE: 2099

Space:1999 is finally getting its much deserved reboot.

V got a reboot.  Battlestar Galactica got a reboot.  Of course, Star Trek got a big screen reboot with the JJ Abrams franchise.

Now Space: 1999 will return to the small screen as "Space: 2099".

Deadliest Catch

Emmalee enjoys crab legs.

No Thanks

After watching several episodes of 'Deadliest Catch' as a family, I realized my kids had never eaten crab. So as a family treat, I took everyone out to Red Lobster after church. Here you can see John is less than enthusiastic about crab legs. You might even say frightened or intimidated.

Book Mark

To you, it may be a dirty gym sock. To my son, it's also a book mark.
